Paloma Hotels, Paloma Grida
Serik, Antalya
Serik, Antalya
The renovation of Paloma Grida Hotel is centered on the careful preservation and adaptive reuse of existing structures, while also incorporating the addition of a new main hotel building to meet contemporary demands. The design framework is rooted in Mediterranean architectural principles, seamlessly merging built forms with the surrounding natural environment. This approach fosters a dialogue between local cultural heritage and modern luxury.
Key architectural interventions include the creation of active green spaces, pedestrian-friendly zones, and culturally significant event venues, all designed to enhance the spatial experience and engage with the landscape. The integration of green points throughout the site not only promotes sustainability but also enriches the guest experience by offering moments of interaction with nature. Social hubs, such as pools, bars, and restaurants, are strategically placed to support both private and communal activities, fostering a sense of place and community.
In the guest rooms, the architectural language reflects the vernacular essence of Anatolia, articulated through modern materiality and spatial arrangements, while the newly added spaces continue this narrative, ensuring coherence in the overall design vocabulary.
The sustainability agenda plays a pivotal role in the design process. Existing structures are preserved to the greatest extent possible, minimizing the carbon footprint of new construction. Locally sourced materials are employed throughout the project to reduce environmental impact and establish a sense of contextual authenticity. The landscape design is meticulously crafted to incorporate water conservation strategies, employing native plant species and efficient irrigation systems. Through these comprehensive measures, the renovation aims to set a benchmark for environmentally responsive design within the hospitality sector, creating a symbiotic relationship between architecture, nature, and culture.
